Meet the Candidates Night to be Shown on Channel 22
If you were unable to attend the "Meet the Candidates" program last night at Village Hall, it was videotaped. It will be shown on Friday (20th) at 8:30 pm; and on Monday (23rd) at 9:00 pm; on Channel 22.
Please post the mayoral debate on YouTube. That was the funniest thing I've seen in my life. That Earl Carter is hilarious! I love it when he does his Foster Brooks impression. Classic... And when he pretends to forget what he's talking about for comedic effect, that's priceless... What a card! I also like how he tries to appeal to the common man by using improper grammar when he speaks. You should try incorporating some of those routines into your act, Mayor. You just came off sounding all intelligent and focused on the future. Pffft! Put a little show-biz pizzazz into your presentation! People are watching those meetings on channel 22! By the way, you should also look into spending more money on better cameras and microphones for those meetings, while you're at it! Wait... Now, what was the question?
I 2nd that motion! or put a link here so those of us not in the area and can't get channel 22 BUT are BIG FANS of you and your administration and of the Village Heights can see your motor intellect and working ideas for the future --in action, AND are looking to spend our hard-earned dollars in your fair city on a summer or fall vacation to take in your fresh air, harvests, fairs and concerts your town is now famous for including but not limited to your World's Most Beautiful Drive. It will be good to able to witness first hand the REASONS you WILL be RE-ELECTED! A few more weeks and the good and fortunate citizens, your constituents, will be in good stead and hands for another 4 years of success! BRAVO MAYOR ALLEN!
Thanks for the very kind comments. I am extremely computer UN-savvy, so any chance of my being able to put anything from the Meet the Candidates Night on YouTube or anywhere on the internet is really, really remote. But, if our sons can help out in the department, I'll surely take advantage of them.
The Peoria Heights Chamber of Commerce put on a very professional show, in my opinion. The panel did a great job of moderating, and all of the candidates who showed up did well. Hopefully, it helped some voters make up their minds. Knowledge is always a good thing, you know!
