A "Blog" For Good Reasons

I'm putting this blog "up" mostly to respond to the almost-certain onslaught of "half-truths, innuendos, and outright lies" in the next several weeks, from my spirited opponent in the mayoral race; but also to give information regarding the positives going on in Peoria Heights over the past three and a half years.

Two years ago, the "Peoria Heights Examiner" appeared in people's mailboxes, just a couple of days before the Trustee election. Thus, there was virtually no time to respond to those "half-truths, innuendos, and outright lies" it contained. It masqueraded as a community newspaper, but it was nothing more than a partisan political party rag. This time around, I hope that folks will check into this blog, no matter when the paper (or whatever else will be sent out) arrives; this will allow me at least a CHANCE of getting the facts out.

In the coming weeks, I will address some of the items that were in the first issue of the "Peoria Heights Examiner." A number of people I've spoken to did not read it, threw it away immediately, or simply knew what it was all about and lined the parakeet cage with it. HOWEVER, I'm not taking a chance this time. I'll point out a number of the "half truths, innuendos, and outright lies" in the first issue; and then address what will likely be even nastier this time around. Please "check in" all the way up to the election on April 7. And, as always, feel free to contact me at 686-2385 with any concerns you might have regarding the Village of Peoria Heights.

Thanks- Mark

  3. THE PEORIA HEIGHTS EXAMINER IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD SEE COME FROM NORTH KOREA (PROPAGANDA), I WONDER IF EARL CARTER IS RELATED TO KIM JONG IL.

  4. Excellent. This blog needs to reach the masses of the Village; they need to know it's here. I hope to see it in other local blogs that will link to this site, say, if one is on, for instance, the CJ Summers/Peoria Chronicle blog, Peoria Rocks, Peoria Pundit, etc. -- those listings links to other blog addresses ...assuming this is within protocol (I'm novice as to any rules/regulations/guidelines for elections or otherwise)...and in that vein, could you also list this blog address in your contact information under your e-mail address and Fax number on the left side of the Village Board of Trustees city website? It IS 'contact information', a way to reach you. And... Are blog addresses listed in the local news papers, local media, etc?... Also, perhaps you could keep this forum going after the elections, as another communication/forum link that will reach your constituents. P.S. I found this blog through the search words 'Board of Trustees Village of Peoria Heights' on the first page of search, but didn't see this blog when entering 'Mayoral elections Village of Peoria Heights' on first or second page; it may appear on more pages out but I didn't venue to the third or fourth pages, etc.. If you haven't already, perhaps add 'Mayoral Elections' to your key search words to reach here.

  5. I really appreciate the comment. I'm not really sure how to wrap a "key word" into the search on this thing. I wish I did. If anyone can help me in this, I'd appreciate it. I would think that just the title of the blog would pop up when you type in "Peoria Heights," but it doesn't even show up when I type in "Peoria Heights Response."

  6. Search engines are an odd lot. Web sites may be different than blogs. The one web-site building course I took, and it was quite a few years ago, had key words you could enter for search, with the correct...I believe html? codes, before and after (those codes have long since left my brain) so that when entered in a search engine the site would come up. I'm unaware if this would apply the same for blogs.

  7. Awesome AWESOME blog. I'm starting the celebration now. OK so I'm anxious in anticipation for what I KNOW will be a GREAT Tuesday for you, Mayor Mark, handily: The voters WERE careful what they wished for, who they voted for, and they voted YOU IN again, and voted IN the Trustee Independents. IN IN, for the benefit of the Heights. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uJe_qNP4ko
    History re-starts now! Sunlights on the way. Tomorrows calling. M A S T E R P I E C E.
In thanks for your continued stepping up to the plate in tremendous care for your fellow citizens and businesses, a sincere celebration reassurance to you from across the miles. 26thCongressionalDistrictResident/
